Anthropic Launches Claude Fable 5.1 and Mythos 5.1: What Changes for Retail, Beauty, and E-Commerce
09/02/2026 · by Ybera AI, reviewed
Anthropic has just unveiled two new artificial intelligence models: Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Mythos 5.1. Positioned as the most capable systems the company has ever developed, the models stand out in coding, complex reasoning, and scientific research — with direct implications for professionals in retail, beauty, and e-commerce.
Both models share the same architecture but differ in access level: Fable 5.1 is publicly available via API, while Mythos 5.1 is restricted to select organizations in fields such as cybersecurity and life sciences. On the most demanding benchmarks, the results are striking: Fable 5.1 reaches 52.6% on Terminal-Bench-Science 0.1 — more than double the previous model's score — while Mythos 5.1 hits 60.9% on the Terminal-Bench 4.0 coding benchmark.
One of the most significant developments for businesses is the price reduction. The cache hit cost for Fable 5.1 has been cut by 75%, dropping to just US$ 0.25 per million input tokens. In practice, applications that reuse extensive context — such as product catalogs, knowledge bases, or customer service histories — become considerably more affordable to run.
For the Ybera universe, the opportunities are tangible. In e-commerce, the model can automate product descriptions, technical sheet SEO, and seasonal campaign content with less need for human review. In customer service, bots built on Fable 5.1 can look up return policies, calculate shipping costs, and recommend products across long reasoning chains. For data analysis, the model fits seamlessly into market intelligence tasks, such as identifying beauty trends and measuring campaign performance.
Technical teams stand to benefit as well: Fable 5.1 is praised for pinpointing the root cause of bugs rather than applying surface-level fixes, which can accelerate the maintenance of integrations between e-commerce platforms, ERPs, and marketing tools.
These models are also the first from Anthropic to comply with the EU AI Act, featuring output watermarking and a detection API for regulators. Fable 5.1 is now available under the identifier claude-fable-5-1 on the Claude API, Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.
