Anthropic has just unveiled two new artificial intelligence models: Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Mythos 5.1. Positioned as the most capable systems the company has ever developed, the models stand out in coding, complex reasoning, and scientific research — with direct implications for professionals in retail, beauty, and e-commerce. Both models share the same architecture but differ in access level: Fable 5.1 is publicly available via API, while Mythos 5.1 is restricted to select organizations in fields such as cybersecurity and life sciences. On the most demanding benchmarks, the results are striking: Fable 5.1 reaches 52.6% on Terminal-Bench-Science 0.1 — more than double the previous model's score — while Mythos 5.1 hits 60.9% on the Terminal-Bench 4.0 coding benchmark. One of the most significant developments for businesses is the price reduction. The cache hit cost for Fable 5.1 has been cut by 75%, dropping to just US$ 0.25 per million input tokens. In practice, applications that reuse extensive context — such as product catalogs, knowledge bases, or customer service histories — become considerably more affordable to run.
